Sky goes dark with night
As one struck with fright
Coils in a corner in flight
So light is put out of sight
Before eyes of broad Day

Standing things sway
Dust and rubbish things
Fly, excited into ascension
Trapped in the windy symphony
Of an invincible orchestra

Flashing forks and cracking cords
Like blowing bombs
Shower shrapnel of a sundered sky
Down the face of cowering Day.

Loosed, let your fury fly
Growl, pour, have your fill
Then be still
And let Day be
So lift your frock
And let him see
For you will come
Again at six o’ clock.
